The Club's behavioural charter is aligned with the RFU’s values and sets the expected behaviours for all members, club officials, volunteers and players. Compliance with this charter is a condition of membership. Failure to uphold the charter will result in disciplinary action.
1) Teamwork
• Every member contributes to a positive, inclusive environment where all members, players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters feel welcome.
• Players commit to working selflessly for the team, supporting one another on and off the field, and recognising that each person has a role to play.
• Members speak up when behaviour threatens the unity or reputation of the club or the sport.
2) Respect
• Respect is shown to referees, assistant referees, match officials, all club members and volunteers, opposition players, coaches and supporters at all times, without exception.
• All decisions made by match officials are accepted without dissent, confrontation, or negative gestures.
• Opposition players, coaches, and supporters are treated with courtesy, recognising that they share the same love of the game.
• Members uphold the traditions and spirit of rugby, understanding that respect is the foundation of the sport.
3) Enjoyment
• Members help create an environment where rugby is fun, rewarding, and safe for everyone.
• Players celebrate effort, improvement, and participation as much as results.
• Volunteers and officials are supported so that their involvement remains enjoyable and sustainable.
4) Discipline
• All members follow the Laws of the Game and the regulations of the RFU, recognising that discipline ensures fairness and safety.
• Players and supporters control their emotions, maintain composure under pressure, and avoid behaviour that could endanger others.
• Players arrive prepared, punctual, and committed to training, matches, and club responsibilities.
5) Sportsmanship
• Winning is pursued with commitment, but never at the expense of integrity.
• Members win with dignity and lose with grace, acknowledging the efforts of opponents and officials.
• Cheating, racism, discrimination, violence, and abuse — verbal or physical — are rejected outright.
• Volunteers and paid officials are valued and appreciated for their essential contribution to the game.
6) Expectations for All Members
• Uphold this charter at all times, whether playing, coaching, spectating, or representing the club in the community.
• Challenge behaviour that falls short of these standards and support others in doing the same.
• Recognise that every action reflects on the club and the wider rugby family
